Pastor Anand Mondol

Pastor Anand Mondal is serving God in Robertsganj Sonebhadra, Uttar Pradesh, India. His parents are Mondal and Mamta Mondal. He has two sisters, and a wife, Dipika Sharma, and one daughter, Gloria. He has completed his GTH, B.A, and B.Th.

He is from a Hindu background. Raised with Hindu’s rituals and practices, he fasted and visited different Hindu god or goddess’ temples for peace in his life. Staying in various temples, day and night, Anand sought peace but failed to find it. Whenever he gazed at the sky with its moon, stars, and sun, he became aware of a thirst to know who created all of our universe. Though he had some answers from science as to how it might have been created, it still did not satisfy him. He wanted to know about the creator, but he did not find any answers from Hindu religious books. He did not find holiness in their character. During Durga Puma, he was taken to a discipleship meeting in Kolkata by some church youth. There one servant of God was preaching about sin, death and eternal life, Romans 3:10-23, 6:23, and the love of God, John 3:16. There for the first time, he came to know about sin. After hearing the Gospel, he repented, and asked God to help him to know more about Him. Anand committed his life to the Lord and took His hand. He was water baptized on 10th October 2005.

Anand began attending church for fellowship. His spiritual growth was slow at first but started growing in his spiritual life. Over time, God spoke through His Word to him how to build his life through the scripture. Anand decided to end going to Hindus temple, participating in pagan practices and Hindu rituals, which he had often done to get peace. By starting to read, study, and apply the word of GOD in his life, and attending Sunday service regularly, he came to know the truth of God. He has been living as a born-again Christian with joy, peace, and contentment.

After his baptism God was preparing him for the ministry. While Anand was attending church service regularly, God was calling him to serve Him. But he refused. His pastor said that he has been selected by Lord for ministry. But he ignored these reminders. In that time one event happened to him that is unforgettable.

There were some family problems with his mom and dad. Both parents had left the home separately. On a Sunday, he was alone in the room, he went to church in the evening time, and he promised to the Lord that he is ready to go wherever the Lord wants to send him! He prayed to GOD to please bring my parents to me, wherever they are. Next day in the early morning, somebody was knocked on the door. When Anand opened the door he was amazed! His father was standing at the door! He had returned home after 25 days. Soon afterwards, his mother also returned. All things were fine.

Anand forgot the promise which he had made with God. God sent someone to him to speak with him and to warn him that God had selected him to serve Him. Don’t deny Him! He taught him from Eze 33:8. After reading this he was unable to sleep. Late at night he finally submitted to the Lord by vowing, “Yes! Lord, I am ready to serve you!”. Anand committed his life to serve Him.

After that he went for biblical study in Lucknow. There, he studied GTH for three years in the Hindi language which learned there. After completing his GTH again, God opened a way to study for his B.Th in Delhi. Anand studied biblical study for six years. After finishing my study, he served Compassion International Ministry in Jhansi for a year, and a three-year children ministry in Sonebhadra. During my ministry, he completed his B.A. and married Dipika Sharma. Now they have a daughter, and all are with him in the ministry field. He is so happy to serve Him with his family.
